There is no named female elder of any church in the NT. I just hope that that kind and helpful German Benedictine in the chapel that you mention at 12' will never have to witness the laughter he excited when you talk about how he was helping you to find what you had been looking for a long time. Humour is a wonderful thing, but German bashing is not, especially not in intellectual places like Boston College. Most Germans have at least a basic command of English, many speak it very well and even know one or more other foreign languages. Pity, I like so much how you emphasize tolerance and love.
